What is an AMRAP timer?
An AMRAP timer is a countdown clock for "as many rounds as possible" training. You set a time cap, the clock counts down to zero, and you complete as many rounds of a fixed set of movements as you can before it runs out. Your score is rounds plus any extra reps.
How long should an AMRAP be?
Most AMRAPs run 5 to 20 minutes. Five and ten minute caps reward an all-out anaerobic effort; fifteen and twenty minute caps become pacing tests, where going out too fast in round one costs you more than it gains. Pick the cap first, then choose movements you can hold under fatigue.
How do you score an AMRAP?
Count every complete round, then add the reps you finished of the round you were partway through when the clock hit zero. A score of "7+12" means seven full rounds plus twelve reps. Record the workout with the score, because the number only means something next to the same movements.
Is this AMRAP timer free?
Yes. This page needs no account, no app install and no payment, and it runs entirely in your browser. If you want to run the same clock with other people and share a live leaderboard, that is what the rest of AMRAP With Friends does.
